You know that “Shoulda said” moment? For me it happens on the drive home or in the middle of the night, as I replay a situation in my head, and wham, I shoulda said…
Valentine’s Day, in modern times, is relegated to candy hearts and little paper greeting cards, and is largely a holiday dedicated to romantic love.
Well, we’re writers, by gosh! We’re creative types who can put a spin on something and make it new. So here are some suggestions to celebrate a writerly Valentine’s Day:
Thank the individuals who have been there for you so much you can never repay them for all they’ve done. Think outside the (cereal) box on this one. The person who delivers your mail has to travel through snow, sleet, sun (and other adverse conditions that may or may not start with ‘s’) to deliver your mail. How about some candy hearts and three cheers for that work?
Not everyone can inspire through the spoken word, but if you give yourself the time to write, your best self will come out.
